Privacy Policy

Fade Calendar (“we,” “us”) is a Chrome extension and companion website (fadecalendar.com) operated by Pedro Lopes, as a sole trader, for the purpose of visually dimming configured hours on Google Calendar's grid. This policy explains what data the extension and website collect, why, and how it's handled. If anything here is unclear, contact pclslopes@gmail.com.

What we don't collect

The extension never reads, collects, or transmits your calendar events, their contents, attendees, or any other data from the Google Calendar page. Its content script reads only the page's structural layout (grid positions and dates) needed to draw a visual overlay -- nothing about what's written on your calendar ever leaves your device. The free-to-use dimming itself makes no network requests at all.

What we do collect

• Email address. Used as your account identifier for login (a one-time code is emailed to you -- there is no password), for tracking your 7-day free trial, and for associating a subscription or lifetime purchase with your account.
• Login codes and session tokens. A short-lived one-time code is generated when you request to sign in, and a signed session token is issued once it's verified. Codes expire after 10 minutes and are single-use.
• Subscription/plan status. Whether your account is in trial, subscribed monthly, or has a lifetime purchase, and a reference ID from our payment processor (Stripe) identifying your customer record there. We do not receive or store your card number -- Stripe's own hosted checkout handles payment directly.
• Basic technical data. Our servers, like virtually any web server, log request metadata (e.g. timestamps, IP address) for operating and securing the service. We don't use this for tracking or profiling.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Fade Calendar, each only for the specific purpose below:

• Stripe -- payment processing for subscriptions and the lifetime purchase. Stripe handles your payment details directly; we never see your card number.
• Resend -- delivers the login-code emails.
• Upstash / Vercel -- hosts our database (trial dates, account-to-customer links) and the website/backend itself.

We do not sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else beyond what's needed to operate these services.

How long we keep it

We keep account data (email, trial dates, plan status) for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your data deleted, email us and we'll remove it, subject to any records we're legally required to retain (e.g. transaction records for tax purposes).

Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under GDPR to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these, email pclslopes@gmail.com. The legal basis for processing your email and plan status is performance of the contract between us (providing the service you signed up for) and, for billing records, our legal obligation to keep tax records.

Children's privacy

Fade Calendar is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, children under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Fade Calendar after a change means you accept the update.
